Garden of Eden Hand Beaded Bag
This piece is inspired by the Garden of Eden and the visual symbolism of medieval religious art. This one of a kind shoulder bag is embroidered entirely by hand using thousands of individually stitched beads.
White doves, pomegranates, thistles and flowering vines surround a central cross motif, drawing on Christian symbolism and historic textile traditions. The imagery explores themes of paradise, sacrifice, abundance and renewal, reimagined through contemporary bead embroidery.
This piece took 2 months of planning and a further four months of embroidery. Every element of the design has been stitched by hand. No machine embroidery, printing or adhesive has been used in the creation of the artwork.
Designed as a functional handbag AND a piece of wearable textile art.
