Scarlet Chalice Sacred Heart Ornament

Hand embroidered heart ornament with a beaded chalice, made on scarlet velvet. Inspired by the liturgical arts of the Middle Ages.

This piece is built around a gold chalice at the centre, stitched with glass beads and small jewel-like details. Around it, I’ve worked gold rays so it has a sunburst effect surrounding the centrepiece.

The base is deep red velvet, finished with a gold beaded edge and a patterned ribbon for hanging.

It’s one of my more detailed pieces, taking over 15 hours to make.

Designed to hang on a wall or as part of a display.

This is a one-of-one piece. I don’t remake designs, so once it’s gone, it’s gone.
