Frankenstein’s Monster: The Gilded Spark Sacred Heart Ornament

Hand embroidered Sacred Heart ornament made with tweed and gold velvet.

This piece is built around a gold velvet heart, with a small metal cross at the centre and a sunburst of gold and silver beadwork stitched around it. The base is a heritage tweed, so there’s a contrast between the rougher fabric and the brighter, reflective beadwork.

It took around 6 hours to make, working into both fabrics to build up the texture and structure.

This is a one-of-one piece. I don’t remake designs, so once it’s gone, it’s gone.
