Cathedral Sacred Heart Ornament

A handmade sacred heart ornament inspired by medieval reliquaries, devotional objects and gothic religious art.

This piece is embroidered entirely freehand on deep burgundy velvet using silver beadwork, metallic embroidery and a central cross motif surrounded by radiating details. No template or stencil is used during the process, giving the ornament a own slightly irregular and devotional quality.

The design is also a recreation of one of the very first sacred hearts I made when I began embroidering in November 2025 - revisiting the original piece through more detailed beadwork, softer textures and a more refined reliquary-inspired finish.

Trimmed with delicate lace and finished with a velvet hanging ribbon, the ornament sits somewhere between decoration and talisman. The imagery draws from sacred heart symbolism, cathedral iconography, ex-voto offerings and medieval devotional textiles.

Designed for walls, hooks, shelves or seasonal displays, each piece is entirely handmade and 1 of 1.
